Colombo International Institute of Higher Education CIIHE, together with Weltec & Whitireia, New Zealand is offering an excellent opportunity for Sri Lankan nurses to obtain a Masters degree with international recognition and employment opportunities.
Registered nurses who have 3-5 years of working experience are now able to enter the MSc in Professional Practice (Healthcare Leadership) programme awarded by Weltec. This is an 18 month postgraduate level masters degree for nurses and is aimed at training nurses to gain knowledge and skills required to function at leadership roles in healthcare facilities.
Upon graduation they are able to take up employment in Administration, Management and Coordination positions in Healthcare facilities such as hospitals, clinics, social and disability care facilities, community homes and aging care facilities. There are many job opportunities in these areas in New Zealand and throughout the world. Completion of this programme offers 5 years post study visa and the eligibility of apply for permanent residency in New Zealand if interested.
Students could study for 06 months in Sri Lanka at CIIHE and the rest of the programme at Weltec in New Zealand largely reducing the course fee and making the programme affordable for the Sri Lanka nurses. CIIHE will cover 3 modules worth 60 credits and prepare students for the remaining modules and the research project. CIIHE also will provide the training to achieve the required language proficiency (IELTS 6.5) and the academic skills to study at master’s level.
Weltec & Whitireia is a one of the top government professional and vocational education universities in New Zealand and is located in Wellington, the Capital of the country.
